It was a bittersweet day Saturday at the 4-H Livestock Animal Market Sale, one of the final events of the 2016 Cattaraugus County Fair. The auction was really the day 4-H kids prepared for when they got their animals many months ago only to part with them that afternoon. We had 256 kids enrolled, said Abby Luzier, the 4-H youth development educator. And about 130 participated in the market sale. Then a lot of them had multiple animals in the sale. Luzier had been on the job for only five weeks before fair week.
